Cargill, Inc. has bene ordered to pay a $100,000 fine for environmental violations at its Iowa Falls bio-diesel plant. The order also requires the company to comply with state law at facilities in three other cities as well at Iowa Falls.
A boiler tube ruptured at the Ames power plant this morning, sending ash onto cars and nearby streets. The ash was residue from burning coal, and posed no health hazard. Car owners received coupons for a free car wash.
Grinnell College is listed 13th on Kiplinger Personal Finance Magazine's list of the top 50 values among private colelges in America. Grinnell was the only Iowa colelge to make the list. A Pennsylvania college ranked first.
