The eighth grade division featured several evenly-matched teams including the East Marshall Mustangs. The young Mustangs battled hard in each of their three games losing to eventual champion Waukee 30-26 and second place finisher North Polk 37-35. The Mustangs defeated Des Moines East 13-11. East Marshall was coached by Diana Fritz and Mark Fricke.
The fifth grade champion was the Dallas Center-Grimes Red Fillies. The Fillies defeated the Cedar Rapids Lightning 16-15 in the finals.
Pella Shoot-It dominated the sixth grade division winning the championship over the Ballard Bombers 33-15.
A total of 24 teams from grades 5 – 8 played in Girls MOBI, which is sponsored by the Marshalltown Noon Optimist Club in partnership with the MHS Bobcat Booster Club.
Boys MOBI for players in grades 5 – 8 will be played February 16 - 17. Spots are still open in the boys MOBI with the entry deadline of February 4. More information can be obtained at www.noonoptimist.org.
