Field Drainage Program

An educational program on field drainage will be held on Tuesday, March 16th, 9:30AM at Titan Machinery meeting room, just east of Grundy Center on Hwy 175.  Speakers and topics include Dr. Matt Helmers, ISU Extension ag engineer presenting engineering and construction designs of subsurface drainage systems; Kelvin Leibold, ISU farm management specialist will address the economics of tiling, laws, legal issues and landlord and tenant lease options; NRCS ag engineer, Bruce Atherton will review tile coefficients and spacing and sizing basics and NRCS District Conservationist Gary Hillmer will talk about wetland issues. This meeting is sponsored by the Grundy County Extension Service and Grundy County Soil and Water Conservation District.
